"Ozio" by I.DE.A. INSTITUTE

Human beings have always faced journeys, be they long or short. The difficulties they face are primarily due to lack of a place to sit, and the time eaten up by these journeys. Biography of Umberto Palermo
Following an art-based education, he moved to Milan where he began working for various architectural offices. He then worked for Studio Bonetto, flanking major talents such as Angelo Cortesi, Ermando Cressoni and Marco Bonetto. He focused his abilities on the automotive world, and in particular on shape design at the beginning of the 2000s, moving to Turin and becoming Manager of the Advanced Design Centre at IDEA Institute S.p.A.. He intensified his work as designer with groups such as FIAT, Yamaha, Daihatsu. From 2007 he was manager of IDEA's new Design Center, overseeing their rebranding plan based on the concept of diversification: from Automotive to Industrial Design, Interior Design and Fashion Design. A dream was realized when the "ERA" Concept was exhibited at DREAM, a jewel produced by the IDEA Institute and fruit of the work of the young team he coordinated. March 2009 marked the return of the IDEA group to Geneva Car Show, where ERA was proudly exhibited.
