Angolo is an object offering people a pleasant break from walking, working or
traveling by using and enhancing the textural and aesthetic qualities of Alcantara®.
Simply it is a block furnishing, for domestic or public use, one on which people can
sit or lye down in order to relax physically and mentally. The irregular composition
of facetted surfaces offers subtle sensorial and massage qualities for the body.
Angolo is a combination of Alcantara® and memory foam. The ironically jagged and facetted surface is actually semi hard memory foam bonded and upholstered with Alcantara®. The foam collapses under the weight of the body for comfort but still retains a small crisp surface effect pleasant and surprising to feel. Upon getting up, the surface gently returns back into its original shape.
The design breaks the 2D properties of Alcantara® by creating surprising upholstered 3D surfaces, inviting to use, touch and feel. It presents Alcantara in an impressive three-dimensional manner. In public environments it can be used at airports, lounges, waiting rooms or other locations where people need a break.
